Teeth Whitening - A Simple But Effective Way to Restore the Natural Good Looks of Your Teeth

By Arthur Kezian

Teeth whitening treatment are an effective way of removing stubborn stains and improving the way your teeth looks. They are of course the most effective way to improve your smile.
Staining of the teeth is caused by a number of factors. While age is a natural teeth darkener because of years of accumulation of stains that build up on the teeth it is also important to know that your teeth are genetically predisposed to a certain color range.

Your natural teeth color will deepen with time. Teeth that are thin and translucent are the ones on which stains show up more prominently. With the passage of time these stains become more obvious. Thicker teeth respond much better to teeth whitening procedures.

There are many other reasons for staining of the teeth including regular use of certain types of food and drinks, medications, teeth grinding and trauma to the teeth. Teeth whitening can be carried out in many ways. Quick whitening procedures employed at the office include using a high concentration of peroxide gel which is applied to the teeth directly for whiter teeth. Care is taken to protect the gums so that they are not affected by the gel during the teeth whitening process.

While teeth having stubborn stains may require a second visit, excellent results are usually achieved during a one hour teeth whitening session at the best dental clinic. Dentists may also give patients a teeth whitening kit for use at home. This kit consists of bleaching trays and low concentration of peroxide gels that remain on the teeth for one hour at least. Sometimes the trays need to be left on the teeth overnight.

Teeth bleaching products when used properly can change the color of your teeth anywhere from five to seven shades. In some instances, it is even possible to make the teeth brighter by twelve shades.
It is important to get your teeth evaluated by expert cosmetic dentists because not everyone is an ideal candidate for bleaching. In some cases where the teeth is discolored extensively or pitted, it is better to go in for veneers because bleaching may not work and may in fact cause further damage to the color of your teeth. Moreover, patients who have crowns, bridges and fillings cannot get a comprehensive bleaching.

Teeth whitening may appear to be a simple dental process but when done by experienced dentists can make a huge difference to the looks and quality of your teeth. Approaching the right dentist is crucial for best results.

Tips on Teeth Whitening

By Arthur Kezian

Whitening the teeth is one of the most popular services when it comes to dental health. Most people find that they suffer from teeth that are no longer white and normally use different remedies to get them back to their natural color or simply obtain whiter teeth. The bleaching services offered in Los Angeles have proven to be effective and safe compared to the whitening agents that were used in the past.

It is important to know that the end result of your whitening procedure may depend on the cause of the discoloration, the bleaching agent used in the treatment and the competence of the dentist in taking care of your case. People seeking these services should not have excessively high expectations as this has been the root cause of disappointment for many people.

When searching for teeth whitening services, it is very important to know whether you have fillings that are any other color besides white. They tend to remain the same color even after bleaching. This means that you may need to have the fillings replaced to match the new color of your teeth instead of matching the color that was there before the bleaching. This may cost you an extra amount of money and it helps to be aware of this before the procedure is done so as to avoid being caught unaware.

Other parts of the teeth that do not change color with bleaching include porcelain crowns and restorations that are located on the different teeth. They also may need to be replaced. The other thing that should be noted when investigating teeth whitening procedures is that it is not advisable to have this procedure done if you suffer from sensitive teeth. This is because the whitening agents tend to further increase the sensitivity of the teeth. It is necessary to address the sensitivity issues first. Once you have solved the sensitivity problem, you can proceed with the bleaching treatment.

After selecting the dental clinic from which you want to receive your teeth whitening procedure, ensure that the dentist handling your case explains all the techniques, advantages and disadvantages as well as the expectations you should have for each procedure. Always choose the services of a good dentist who is experienced and has been trained and certified by the appropriate professional organization.

How to Get Shinier, Whiter Teeth

By Arthur Kezian

A beautiful smile requires perfect teeth. But yellow or brown stains caused by coffee, tea, red wine or cigarettes are not so good to look at.

To get rid of such nasty stains, we need to make an effort to take extra care of our teeth.

The most important thing is to brush our teeth twice a day for at least one minute. Avoid brushing with a rough toothbrush, which may lead to the damaging of the enamel. Dentists recommend brushing after each meal, but when we are eating out, chewing gum helps a lot. Sugarless gum helps in maintaining white teeth by stimulating the salivary secretion, which washes over the teeth.

We must also avoid the sweets as much as possible, and instead eat more vegetables and fruit. In our goal of getting whither teeth we have to be select a toothpaste that contains enamel-strengthening fluorine.

Seeing the dentist twice a year is recommended because he or she can give suggestions in choosing the best products. For cleaning our teeth and getting them whiter we may use special whitening strips, but we must follow the indications during the whole treatment if we want to have positive results.

The most frequent problem in obtaining shinier teeth is the irritation of the gum. In this case we have to avoid using the whitening strips for a long period of time or other whitening solutions that may provoke pain or gum redness. Those with sensitive gums must try whitening treatments only when guided by specialists.

Whitening solutions have no effect unless they are applied on our natural teeth, so if we have an artificial tooth in our frontal teeth it is better to avoid the whitening strips and solutions because there would be a visible difference between the natural teeth and the artificial ones.

Let your dentist take care of your teeth -- they're the experts who can provide professional advice.
