Causes:
·         There are numerous possible causes for your toothache. The most common cause is that your tooth has a cavity. You will know if you have a cavity by the sense of discomfort on your tooth from temperature change or how it feels when biting down on something.  If you do have a cavity, you can get it filled and the pain will cease.
·         Sinus drainage and allergies can cause a dull dental pain, as well.  This is because the cavity in the sinuses fills with a bacterium that affects your teeth.
·         An abscessed tooth can cause severe pain, as well. This is a tooth that has an infection present.
·         Gum disease can cause tooth pain because it affects the gums which holds the teeth into place. When the gums get infected by the disease, they can cause the base of the teeth to ache which will cause the rest of the tooth to be in pain.
·         Tooth fractures can cause severe pain, as well. When a person is in an accident or sporting event that goes awry; the person may be hit and feel the pain radiating through their teeth.
