What to Expect from Your First Visit

By Arthur Kezian

Are you looking for a new dentist? Maybe you have recently moved and want a dentist closer to your home, or maybe you are looking for a dentist who is up-to-date with the latest technology; whatever the reason is, it is important to do your research correctly.  If you are an internet savvy person, one of the best ways to find a good dentist is online. Checking websites like Google, Yelp, Angie’s List, or ZocDoc can be really beneficial in helping you find the right dentist. You can also get word of mouth from friends and family members and have them tell you about some good dentists. Apart from collecting your information, it is important to also try out a dental office. Just as first impressions are important in meeting new people, they also matter in finding a good dentist. Dr. Arthur A. Kezian DDS, a dentist in Los Angeles, has been welcoming new patients into his office for over thirty years. His office is equipped with the latest technology in dental care, and he and his staff make a great team. Visit his office and make your own opinion about the place, you will more than likely be very pleased.
During your visit at Dr. Arthur A. Kezian’s office, you will be taken into one of the dental rooms to have your consultation with the doctor. Prior to this consultation, you will meet one of the lovely staff members who, depending upon your situation, will take a few X-Rays for the doctor to be able to diagnose your teeth. The X-Rays at Dr. Kezian’s office are digital X-Rays that are linked to the computer that will be facing you. These digital X-Rays are very low in radiation, are very quick, and are very accurate. Once the dental assistant steps out of the room to take the X-Ray, you will automatically see it on the screen in the room. This means you don’t have to wait for any film to be processed, you can zoom in and out of the X-Ray on the screen to focus on problem areas, and you don’t have to bite on the X-Ray for too long (this is good news for those who have gag reflexes)!

After the X-Rays are completed, the dental assistant will also take some intra-oral photos of your teeth. For those who have not had intra-oral photos taken before, they are digitalized cameras made specifically for the mouth. They capture pictures of your teeth including the biting surfaces that are hard to see in the mirror. These intra-oral photos will not only give the doctor a better understanding of what is going on in your mouth, but you will learn from them as well. Many parts of the mouth are hard to check out in the mirror, so these pictures will allow you to see everything you hadn’t before. Also, it is hard for patients to understand and read X-Rays, but with the intra-oral photos, your dentist can explain to and show you what you may not see in the X-Ray.

Once the X-Rays and the intra-oral photos are complete, you are ready to meet your dentist!

The first visits at the office are usually diagnostic. The doctor will take preventive measures and examine all your teeth. Using the X-Rays, the intra-orals, and the oral examination, he can let you know exactly what it is you need. Depending on your case, you and the dentist will devise a treatment plan. This treatment plan will consist of the items that need to be taken care of and the cost. Dr. Kezian’s office is preferred providers with much insurance companies. For patients who do not have insurance, the insurance coordinator can help with various payment options!

Take control of your dental health and visit Dr. Arthur A. Kezian DDS today! He and his staff will make you feel comfortable with your decision and will guide you through every step. If you are looking for a new dental professional, look no further! Dr. Kezian has a flexible schedule, call his office today for a free consultation with him!

Proper Dental Care Can Lead to a Glowing Smile

Many people think brushing is enough to keep their teeth clean; this is not the case. There are many things that come into consideration when speaking of oral hygiene. A combination of brushing, flossing, rinsing and brushing the tongue can help keep your oral hygiene at a good level. But, even with the best home care, your mouth still accumulates plaque which builds up over time and turns into tartar. Recent science has found that teeth problems may be connected to cardiac disease, pneumonia, stroke and even problems during pregnancies.  Dr Arthur A. Kezian, a Los Angeles dentist specialized in dental care, has been treating and educating the public about the problems created by lack of proper oral health. He and his staff keep themselves updated with the latest advanced technology and methods to keep the mouth free from any dental problems.

Dental Hygiene Tips:

Accumulation of food particles can lead to plaque and other gum diseases. Good dental care includes flossing. It should be done with about 18 inches of floss wrapped around your middle finger and hand. The floss should be worked up and down between the teeth. Flossing should be done below the gum line and in between every tooth.

  • Flossing should be done so that all hidden food particles could be removed.
  • Flossing should be done at least once every day.

Brushing Twice a Day Keeps the Germs Away:

A good and soft bristled tooth brush approved by the dental association should be used for brushing to prevent tooth decay and gum disease.

·         Brushing should be done at a 45 degree angle with short strokes to make sure the bristles go between the gums as well.

·         Your tooth brush should be changed every three to four months.

Natural Choices:

Fruits and vegetables play an important part in tooth whitening. Some of the natural ways to whiten your teeth and improve your health at the same time are available in our homes.

·         Apples, carrots, celery, and pears are acidic in nature and naturally clean and whiten your teeth.

·         Strengthening of the enamel can be done with cheese, milk and yogurt which contain calcium and phosphorus.

·         Strawberries also contain an acid which can help remove stains from teeth.

Music Can Calm Your Nerves:

Some people don’t like visiting the dentist for routine check ups because of anxiety, but, keeping up with your check ups is very important. Have you considered music?

·         Music is one way to relax your nerves when visiting a dentist. Take your favorite tunes with you to ease your mind.

·         Yoga breathing exercises are also an ideal way for reducing fear and stress.

Stomach Acid And Tongue Cleaning:

Stomach acids are another major factor for dental problems and they can cause the enamel of the tooth to decay.

·         Beverages like alcohol and caffeinated drinks should be avoided.

·         Spicy food and fried food cause indigestion and can cause dental problems.

  • Bacteria harbored in the tongue can create bad breath and other dental problems. Your tongue should be cleaned using a proper tongue cleaner after brushing.

Dr. Kezian is an expert in oral hygiene and creates awareness in his community by educating his patients about dental care. He and his staff have made it their mission to generate awareness about dental hygiene among children and adults alike.

Door To Periodontal Disease:

·         Lack of dental health can create numerous diseases in the mouth like tooth decay, plaque, periodontal disease, temporomandibular joint disorder and so on. Plaque normally develops when particles of food containing carbohydrates such as milk, soft drinks, raisins, cakes are left on the teeth. The bacteria in the mouth thrive on this and produce acids which destroy the tooth enamel and root and break down the bone support of the teeth.
·         Gingivitis or periodontal disease is caused due to plaque which develops inflammation in the gums and the bacteria formed enters the blood stream and affects the heart and brain. Studies have found that the bacteria in the arteries of heart and brain of Alzheimer patients stem from gum disease.
·         TMJ disease or temporomandibular joint disorder is created by acute plaque and gingivitis which affects the jaw joint and facial muscles. TMJ disease can cause massive tooth pain and gum problems which in turn affects chewing. Lack of dental hygiene can cause pregnant women to have a higher risk of premature delivery. Babies born prematurely run the risk of behavioral and developmental problems.

Sleep Disorder Due To Bad Dental Hygiene:

  • Acute dental problems can create a symptom called Obstructive sleep apnea. Due to the failure of the brain to activate the muscles of breathing, reduction or cessation of breathing collapses the airway during sleep. Complications due to this can lead to high blood pressure, strokes, heart diseases and difficulty in concentrating, thinking and remembering.
  • Good dental health should start from the infancy stage. Everybody including children should be encouraged to brush after every meal or at least twice a day. Flossing should be done every day after brushing to break the plaque between the teeth and under the gums which removes all the food particles missed during brushing. Flossing should be done with about 18 inches of floss wrapped around your middle finger and hand and work the floss up and down between the teeth. Flossing should be done below the gum line and every tooth in the mouth. People with bridges, braces and other dental fixtures may need a threader to clean the teeth with the help of a preventive dentist. Diet plays an important role in dental health. Food with the necessary vitamins and minerals should be consumed for healthy teeth and gums.

How Much Toothpaste Is Important For Dental Health?

By Arthur Kezian

Brushing once in the morning is not the only thing that keeps your teeth and gums away from cavities and other mouth diseases. Every part of the human body needs proper care and treatment to keep it healthy and at less risk of permanent disease. Dental health cannot be ignored at any cost. Destroyed teeth ruin the smile of your face and personality. Dr Kezian focuses on the health of the teeth. He regularly attends seminars on dental care, and keeps himself up to date on the newest dental procedures and techniques.
Is Using Your Toothbrush Enough?
Dental_health
A toothbrush, regardless of how expensive it is can clean only so much of your teeth. The brush does not reach the inner lining of the teeth, so food particles stay inside these crevices and causes bacteria and other diseases. Just brushing your teeth is not enough. You put your dental health at risk this way.
How Dental Health Can Be Assured?
Tooth brushing twice a day in mandatory by using a good tooth paste that has cavity control ingredients. By using a good mouth wash once a day, you kill the bacteria inside your mouth. With that being said, these are only home remedies. If your teeth are turning yellow in color, go and see your doctor for a teeth whitening treatment. One visit every 4-6 months to the dental office for a complete check up is required to assure the dental health of your teeth. Dr. Kezian puts emphasis on his patients coming in for a 4-6 month dental health examination so that their teeth don’t expire at an early age.

Although, dental treatments are expensive - One visit to the dental office every 4-6 months is not very costly. If you take care of your teeth on a regular basis, you minimize the chance of bacteria growing and attacking your teeth and reduce your risk.
How to Get Rid Of Dirty Teeth?
If you experience mouth odor and have dark yellow stained teeth, then your teeth are at high risk of oral diseases. You cannot cure these kinds of oral diseases at home, according to Dr. Kezian. The lifespan of your teeth are shrinking, making it important for you to make an appointment with Dr. Kezian so he can help you get back on track and improve your over-all dental health and prevent the progression of disease.

Now Get the Smile That You Always Dreamt Of

By Arthur Kezian

Cosmetic dentistry is your best choice when it comes to improving your biggest asset that enhances your face value - your smile.
Good oral hygiene is imperative to keep your teeth and gums in fine shape. It is also necessary to visit your dentist regularly to maintain the good health of your teeth and to monitor any developing problems. However, for a few individuals, their teeth may still not look as attractive as they would like them to. This may be because of conditions such as stained teeth, improper alignment or unattractive shape due to uneven size and spacing between the teeth. All these factors combine to affect the overall look and smile factor.
Cosmetic dentists have the professional expertise to handle all types of dental problems including cosmetic dentistry. They are well versed in treating conditions that affect the quality of your smile. They have a wide range of dental techniques at their disposal that can be used to improve the appearance of your teeth and make your smile look more bewitching than ever.
The primary intent of cosmetic dentistry is to qualitatively improve the appearance of your teeth and enhance your smile. Unlike traditional dental care that focuses on keeping the teeth and gums in fine mettle, cosmetic dentistry concentrates on improving appearance. There are numerous options in restorative treatments available at your cosmetic dentist.
Basic cosmetic dentistry involves methods such as tooth-colored fillings to improve the looks of your teeth cosmetically by taking care of conditions caused by tooth decay. Porcelain or composite materials that match the color of your tooth are used to provide a more pleasing appearance. Treatment processes such as composite bonding take care of imperfections such as chips, breaks, discoloration and decay. Materials that take the natural color of gums and teeth are sculpted into position and hardened. They blend effortlessly with the rest of the teeth to create a beautiful, uniform look.
Teeth whitening are perhaps the most commonly used cosmetic dentistry procedure. Stains from excessive consumption of coffee, smoking and from certain types of food and beverages are removed during the teeth whitening process. The procedure is simple, painless and swift but the results can be spectacular.
There are many other cosmetic dentistry procedures such as dental veneers, dental implants and smile makeovers which are all designed to improve your dental appearance and enhance your smile in the way you always wanted it to look.
Choose the best cosmetic dentist for the best results at the most affordable prices.
